Length: 6.5-10 µm
Width: 1.5-5.5 µm
Striae: 18-20 in 10 µm

Description:

Valve linear-elliptical to elliptical with rounded ends. Axial area distinct, slightly widening towards the central portion of the valve.  Central area very small or indistinct.  Raphe straight, slightly thickened at the center of the valve.  Striae radiate throughout; more widely spaced near the center of the valve.

Morphology: Naviculoid
Distribution: Widespread

Notes:

Our specimens were smaller than those described by Krammer and Lange-Bertalot (1986), but we still consider them to be of the same species.
