ABSTRACT: This data set contains stable isoptope data for water samples taken from Lake Chad. Although it is
not part of the core monitoring program, it is potentially important.

RESEARCH LOCATION: Samples were gathered from a hole near the center of Lake Chad (in a relatively deep
portion of the lake). More information about Lake Chad can be found at
McMurdo Dry Valley Lake Descriptions. Exact coordinates for the samples that were drawn are unknown.

TIMING: Samples were taken from Lake Chad on January 3, 1994.

COMMENTS: The samples were collected by Rob Edwards & Anya Butt. Coplen and White refer to the two
different labs that performed the analyses. White refers to Jim White's lab at INSTAAR (Institute of Arctic &
Alpine Research); Coplen's lab is at DRI (Desert Research Institute).
